Cafe Orchidia in Cebu - Philippines

Also known as Anzani, the Cafe Orchidia is an upper class diner that is attracting a lot of attention in Cebu. It not only has a great selection of food, but the ambience is also very enticing.

Cuisine and Price Range

The specialty of the house are Italian meals, as well as Mediterranean cuisine. An assortment of steaks are on tap, and of course, with an Italian motif, there are copious amounts of pasta, pizza, seafood specials (including cod served with potatoes), and various types of salads.

Also making for a romantic dinner here is the view. With its terrace, one can savor lovely vistas of the city skyline while relishing their meals, which adds to the enjoyment that one derives from the meal. The service is also first rate, with the waitresses prompt and courteous.

Aside from the food though, what makes dining at the Cafe Orchidia very relaxing is that the place has a genuinely homey feel. This is particularly enhanced by the presence of family pictures from the owners as well as their souvenirs from their trips abroad, making you feel that you are not dining in some fancy place but make you feel comfortable and right at home. The fact that the place has been designed by some of Cebus finest artists also helps.

The price starts at Php 400 and if you choose one of their wines (there are over 1,200 available) the cost will amount to at least Php 2,000. However, there are free appetizers, and also sweet cakes complements of the diner, making it very reasonable.

The place is open Mondays to Saturdays from six in the evening until 12 midnight. You may pay by cash, or through credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Amex).

The Cafe Orchidia is at the Panorama heights in Nivel Hills at Lahug in Cebu City. It is not that far from some of the finer hotels in the city, such as the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu.
